What kind of pre-employment screening do you conduct on your employees?

We can tailor our services to meet your needs. Each office is equipped with on-site services for drug screening*, nationwide background investigations*, and previous employer reference/skills checks. *Additional fees may apply.

Drug screening is completed if requires by employer.

Can I get same-day service?
Gem State Staffing is uniquely qualified to fill same-day temporary positions. If you already have an account with our company, we can usually have workers on your worksite within 1 hour of your call.
What are your rates?
There are several variables in our rates dependent mostly on the industry and volume required. We strive to meet our clients’ budgetary goals and routinely review our rates to remain competitive. Please contact your local office for a more detailed outline of our rates.
What is included in your rates?
Our rates include worker’s wages, workers’ comp insurance, all applicable employer state and federal taxes, FICA, Medicare, unemployment insurance, and our administrative costs. Our insurance carrier will issue you a “Certificate of Worker’s Compensation Insurance.” We also provide W-2’s for employees on our payroll.
Are there a minimum number of hours we will be required to pay?
Yes. We require a four-hour minimum for most temporary orders unless previous arrangements have been made.
Can I interview candidates before we hire them?
Yes! We encourage interviews for our temp-to-hire candidates. We will provide a mini bio about each prescreened candidate before they interview with your company.
I need temporary labor outside my normal work area; can I use a different office if I have an account?
Yes! It takes just a few minutes to have your information transferred to the new location. Please contact your local branch manager for more information.
How does overtime work?
Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the base rate for hourly work after 40 hours in a workweek. Overtime is billed at 1.5 times the base bill rate after 40 hours in a workweek.
How do I set up an account?
We’ll need to know some specifics about your company before we can begin the account setup process. We’ll need to know things like what type of work you do; what skill level you’re seeking; pay rates; hiring criteria; your company values; etc. After we complete our orientation with you, we’ll put together a package that will include our rates and the terms & conditions of our agreement to provide service.
Can I get service in my area?
We’re strategically located across the Southern Idaho Snake River Corridor. We have 8 brick and mortar locations. We can typically service just about any city between Ontario, Oregon, and the Wyoming border.
Can you provide payroll service for all my employees?
Absolutely! We love payroll. Contact a Branch Manager today for more details.
Do you accept ACH payments?
Yes, we can accept ACH payments.
Do you offer direct deposit for your employees?
Yes, we offer direct deposit for all our employees.
How do you recruit applicants for your open positions?
We utilize a variety of methods. We use a multitude of websites to post our open positions. We attend many of the local and regional job fairs and have used radio and print media for project-based recruiting campaigns.
